🎬 iego Faucheux Pérez Roca, a Lima-born artist (1996), is the mind behind the experimental music project Árbol. Since his debut in 2019, Árbol has stood out for its unique approach to combining field recordings, synthesis, and composition techniques, transforming noise into sound art. His first live performance in Barranco showcased his ability to craft experimental soundscapes, quickly gaining recognition in Lima’s cultural scene through events in prominent venues like the Alianza Francesa.
🔥 In 2020, Árbol released Estados de Excepción under 1049 Records, marking its place within Latin America’s experimental electronic music landscape. The album received acclaim in specialized media and led to virtual collaborations with international collectives like SEQES and Auditum, expanding Árbol’s influence across borders.
🛠 In the following years, Diego continued exploring new aesthetics of noise, producing Zafiro (Otono Label, 2021), and participating in multidisciplinary collaborations. His 2022 piece Senda Irreversible became the basis for an award-winning short film showcased at international film festivals. This project highlighted his passion for sonic storytelling, transforming noise into compelling audiovisual experiences.
📅 Currently, Diego remains at the forefront of experimental music innovation. Through multimedia projects like Signo, which blends field recordings, cult cinema fragments, and visual art, he continues to redefine the possibilities of noise, cementing his status as a key figure in Latin America’s experimental music scene.

For some years now, we’ve been following Diego’s work, whether through his modest label, with colleagues, or via other projects. He kindly shared his latest work with us: personal, intimate. An intriguing project blending intervened soundscapes, virtual instruments, and analog manipulations.
It’s no coincidence that he has expanded his interests to include visual arts and other disciplines. The Peruvian artist, currently based in Madrid, continues his explorations, reaffirming the curiosity and experimental approach that drive his creative endeavors.

💻 About our PROCESS
Occasionally, among all the submissions we receive for review, there are some where we are particularly curious about the creators’ processes. For this reason, we sent Diego a short questionnaire. Our work was carried out exclusively through virtual epistolary exchange. Once we had the audio, we followed our usual workflow:
- And, of course, a lot of excitement to hear albums like this one!
- Audio transcoding and editing with Oceanaudio for Windows.
- Composition, mixing, and mastering for platforms using Ableton Live 11.
