🎬 Andreas Ammer🇩🇪 is a German author, director, and cultural journalist known for his innovative work in radio drama and television documentaries. With a Ph.D. in German studies, Ammer transitioned from academia to become a pioneering force in experimental media. He began his TV career as an assistant to Alexander Kluge on the legendary “Stunde der Filmemacher”.

Ammer is renowned for his collaborations with musicians like FM Einheit and his groundbreaking radio plays, including “Radio Inferno” and “Apocalypse Live”. His work often incorporates found sound and historical recordings, as seen in “Crashing Aeroplanes” and “Deutsche Krieger”.

Ammer is the only director to win top honors in both radio (Hörspiel der Kriegsblinden Prize, twice) and television (German Television Award). He has ventured into ambitious web-based projects like “Unendliches Spiel”, an 80-hour reading of David Foster Wallace’s “Infinite Jest”, and “Zusammen Walden”, a 16.5-hour adaptation of Thoreau’s “Walden” narrated by 500 readers.

His diverse portfolio includes TV series production, live performances, and even a book on oysters. Ammer continues to push boundaries in media and sound art from his home in Berg, Bavaria.
