From jazz bass to ethereal sounds, Pamelia

pushes the boundaries of electronic music.
Pamelia Stickney, formerly known as Pamelia Kurstin, is an American theremin virtuoso who has revolutionized the instrument’s technique. Discovering the theremin in the mid-1990s while playing bass for Geggy Tah, she developed a unique “walking bass” theremin style. Stickney has collaborated with renowned artists like David Byrne, Yoko Ono, and Béla Fleck. She contributed to the design of Moog’s Etherwave Pro Theremin and has performed on Saturday Night Live. Her solo debut, “Thinking Out Loud,” was released on John Zorn’s Tzadik label in 2007. Currently based in Vienna, Stickney continues to push the boundaries of experimental music with projects like Blueblut.
